Beginning in August 2018, we are making some adjustments regarding our Wednesday night Call to the Wall Prayer meeting. During a Call to the Wall prayer meeting in June, we were praying for the church as our focus for the evening. At one point during this meeting, I believe, the Lord clearly instructed me to institute some changes in this meeting. He prompted me to turn to the Bible reference located at Matthew 26:40

Matthew 26:40 – Then He returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” He asked Peter.

As I read this reference, the Holy Spirit revealed two things to me:

  1. Our church must mature in its devotion to prayer and that we need to set forth the goal Jesus himself put forth in this Scripture reference.
  2. That we need to adjust the start time earlier in recognition of the abundance of small children in our congregation.

After reviewing these adjustments with the elders, the following adjustments will be instituted beginning at our first CTW prayer on August 1, 2018.

  • We will begin our CTW meeting promptly at 6:30 p.m.
  • We will end the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
  • Nursery and Children’s classes will proceed as they have in the past.

We are asking every individual and family to make faithful attendance to this time of prayer a matter of serious prayer. Inevitably, some will be precluded from attending due to work schedules and other factors. This is regrettable but can’t be avoided.

Finally, the Bible is clear from start to finish that the corporate gathering of God’s people in a solemn assembly of prayer on a regular basis is the only remedy for and protection against Satan’s plan to resist the advancement of the Kingdom of God and the gospel of Christ.

Let us pray!
