FIVE FOLD LEADERSHIP

And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

– Ephesians 4:11-13

Senior Pastor-Apostolic Minister
Peter and Sharon Mullins

Peter and Sharon Mullins have been married for thirty seven years and are parents of three children and grandparents of five.

Peter is the son of a career Navy man and grew up living at various times on both coasts… and quite a few places in between. Pete has been the senior pastor of CCC since its founding in 1997. He was an associate pastor at what is now New City Church from 1989-1996. Prior to being set in as a pastor, he worked in private business as president of Blalock Oil Company in Jonesboro, Georgia and as an Army officer assigned to Ft. Bragg, N.C. Pete is a 1976 graduate of Georgia State University.

Sharon taught second grade for ten years, home schooled for seven years, and prior to that spent four years in the Army. As a former captain and one of the first female paratroopers with 24 airborne jumps, she is uniquely suited for the challenges of ministry. Sharon grew up on a farm and graduated from Morehead State University in 1977 with a degree in Physical Education. As a former athlete, farmer, and soldier, this background prepared her for the call of a pastor’s wife; prayer warrior and deliverance minister. She has overseen a weekly prayer meeting for over 25 years; is a gifted teacher/preacher and continues to be a vital component in the ministry at CCC.

Ordained in 1982, Dr. Randy Colver is a seasoned Bible teacher who has written numerous Bible workbooks for class instruction and correspondence studies.

Dr. Colver received his PhD from Logos Christian College and Graduate Schools and is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Colver serves as an elder and teacher at the Coweta Community Church.

Dr. Colver currently works as an Information Protection Writer for the IT security department at BCD Travel, a global corporate travel management company, with headquarters for the Americas in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Colver and his wife, Kim, have been married for over forty years. They have six children and thirteen grandchildren.  Dr. Colver believes, “My greatest blessing is to know that all my children are serving God.”

Evangelism & missions
director of Impact discipleship program
Growing up in South, GA (Valdosta and Hahira to be exact), I grew up loving sports and hunting, and of course, the Georgia Bulldogs. At age seventeen, after not growing up in a church, I was born again on August 16, 1996, and have been following Christ ever since.

I graduated from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) with a degree in Child and Family Development, and interned full-time at the Wesley Foundation during my senior year, overseeing ministry to a local housing project in Athens. I also was introduced to open-air preaching – as terrifying as it was at first, man, do I still love doing this! It was during my time in Athens that the call to ministry became clear, and a heart for both shepherding and reaching the lost began to burn in me.

Following my time at UGA, I worked full-time with a UMC Evangelist named Rick Bonfim, traveling all over the US and Brazil – anytime you work with a Brazilian Evangelist, its good times! I spent two summers in Brazil, and this is where my heart for the nations began to be cultivated. I’ve since had the privilege to minister in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Guyana, and India multiple times – ministering regularly with teams from CCC in Colombia, Guatemala, and India.  My heart beats for the Global Church and reaching the lost among the nations.

After completing my time with Rick Bonfim Ministries, I then moved to my present town of Newnan, GA, where I served as a youth minister at a local church, while also commuting to Emory  University for grad school.  I was able to keep the faith – Emory is one liberal place – and graduate with a Master of Divinity from their Candler School of Theology.

More importantly, during this time I met the love of my life, Melanie Hanson, and on June 12, 2004 at 2:00pm, Melanie became Melanie Tillman, as we married at the local church in which she grew up in and in which I was serving as the youth minister. We have since had three amazing kids, Luke (our energetic, strong-willed first born), Haley (our princess – enough said), and Ian (our chill baby of the family, who is also a comedian).

Melanie and I, along with several amazing families, planted a church in Newnan in March of 2005, joined Vanguard Network International that same year, and after seven incredible years followed the Holy Spirit’s leading and merged with a sister church in the network, Coweta Community Church (CCC), in May of 2012.

I have been serving as an Associate Pastor of CCC since the merger, and presently shepherd our congregation into evangelism and missions, while also serving as the director of our IMPACT Young Adult Discipleship Program and Director of our two annual youth and young adult camps for Vanguard Network International.

In conjunction with these responsibilities with our church, my life is presently full with spending time with my family – date nights with Melanie, movie nights with the kids, coaching my boys’ soccer teams, taking my little princess to dance class each week, and laughing at the shenanigans of our kids.

I could not ask to be part of a better church family – we love like crazy, pray like crazy, and worship like crazy! It is the joy of my life to serve the Lord at CCC, and I cannot wait to see all that He does for us, in us, and through us!
